PSIRA · ART SPACE

An art space taking shape.

The Psira facade at 5 Themistokleous Street

At 5 Themistokleous Street in Patras, Psira is taking shape as an art workshop and exhibition space.

The space is under construction. We are preparing with the aim of being ready towards the summer.

The space before it takes shape

Views from the Blender 3D study of the space, created by Kostas Voulgaris. They document the design and planning process, rather than the finished workshop.

The name and our resident cat

Psira is not named after the insect. It takes its name from the cat who lives in the space: Psira, our little housemate.

Materials and making

The workshop is equipped for ceramics, sculpture, plaster work, woodcarving and small-scale fabrication in iron and other metals. Hands-on techniques can meet digital modelling and 3D printing.

Exhibitions and activities

The exhibition space is intended for painting exhibitions, artwork presentations, screenings, seminars and artistic gatherings. Each activity will be announced with its date and participation details.

The space and the artist

Since 2019, the space has served as the business premises and registered office of the sole proprietorship of visual artist Kostas Voulgaris.

An independent breath of creativity

Psira has taken shape through sustained personal work and perseverance, despite difficulties, practical obstacles and a wider climate of crisis. With no external funding from any organisation, it relies on personal effort and the need to create an independent space for art.

It aspires to bring a fresh breath of artistic expression to the city: a source of inspiration, free creativity and meaningful connection. The space is still taking shape, with the same care and belief in what can grow here.

Open to art and people

Psira is open to everyone who loves art and creativity and rejects addiction, conservatism, hypocrisy, fascism and racism.

A place for free expression, connection and creative coexistence, with respect for people and diversity.

Clean air and consideration for everyone

At Psira, we place particular importance on keeping the air as clean as possible. The space has ventilation systems, and smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited for hygiene reasons. Alcohol consumption is also prohibited.
